Greetings Everyone,
The year was 2017. Julie had just revealed her creation to the world at the Dave Asprey Biohacking Conference in Pasadena, CA. She’d received a benevolent grace of being selected as a new and upcoming business and secured a coveted vendor space at this renowned conference. With a minimal inventory of a fresh batch of Sleep Crown pillows in tow, she was off to the show with big hopes. This was her debut into the world of health conferences and she didn’t know what to expect. By the 2nd morning of the Event, she completely sold out of pillows. The Sleep Crown was a hit! The next adventure was to introduce her creation to her home city of Austin, TX during SXSW 2018. SXSW is a city-wide festival, held in the Spring, featuring creative types in the music, arts, technology and health + wellness industries. Austin can be a very intimidating market, filled with Creators, Innovators and Entrepreneurs. This would prove to be a very formidable audience to further launch the pillow that would change the way people looked at restorative sleep.
The space secured at the Palmer Event Center during SXSW Wellness in 2018, the stage was set. How would the Sleep Crown Over-the-Head Pillow resonate with an informative yet respectfully particular Austin audience? With one helper in a small 10 x 10 booth, Julie set out to “tuck-in” as many people as she could to let them experience the wonderful cozy comfort of the Sleep Crown Pillow. Julie sold out, and it seemed as if the Sleep Crown pillow was going to be a “must have” among the Austin Health and Wellness community. But enter stage left, COVID 19 in 2019. This was an unforeseen interruption in the world and it seemed likely to disrupt the new brand in its infancy. Julie quickly pivoted to making face masks when they were very hard to come by. Remember that? Then, the timely, supportive promotion of a social media influencer, TIBAL (Things.I.Bought.And.Liked), Sleep Crown soared and gained tremendous ground during the unprecedented worldwide pandemic and procured an impressive audience beyond Austin.
Fast forward to 2025, and the stage is set once again to present the home-grown, highly successful Sleep Crown Over-the-Head Pillow to her native, local Austin audience. Her team expanded to include daughter Hazel, her original helper Malia and her new Chief Tuck-In Officer, Christopher. Julie, her Dream Team and the Sleep Crown Pillow was a hit among SXSW 2025 attendees. With double the booth size on the expansive floor of the Austin Convention Center, Julie and her team “tucked-in” over 2,000 interested people from all over the world. The Team enjoyed meeting and engaging with people from Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Dubai, Mexico, Canada, Korea, Spain and many more countries. The feedback was amazing and many SXSW-goers left with their very own Crown. And if this was not enough, Julie received a very unexpected invitation to share her Sleep Crown Pillow on Austin’s own FOX 7 News, only days after the end of SXSW 2025. In short, the 2025 SXSW show was an extraordinary success!
Julie often exclaims that her Sleep Crown Customers are the best customers ever! Lastly, in a serendipitous turn of events, The Dave Asprey’s 2025 Biohacking Conference will be held in Austin, TX for the first time ever. It will be at the Fairmont Hotel in May. Sleep Crown will be there “tucking” people in and continuing our mission to dramatically improve the way we sleep. We’ll see you there!
Here’s to your best sleep ever!
